Selling to kids is not exploitative unless you're lying. Just like any business. What I am questioning is parents will to pay a contractual monthly subscription to fund a hobby like video games when you could use that money for a class or an extracurricular sport. I would much rather buy select few items so there is something to do when there's nothing else to do and save money for other things. The monthly model, I would assume, appeals more to an older audience.
